Purpose:
The purpose of Advanced Discussion Groups (ADG) is to bring compliance professionals from across the nation together for a professional exchange of ideas and increase communication among the group participants.

ADG Rules

  • No presentations unless you are using Turning Point to solicit feedback from the participants using hand-held devices.    Note: If you choose to use Turning Point during your ADG, additional education will be provided on use and format.
  • ADG will be 2 hours long with a limit of 50 participants.
  • Maintain control of the discussion:
  • Respond to questions and let others respond to questions but do not allow multiple participants to talk at the same time or try to talk over the each other.
  • Participants do not know each other so you may need to break the ice to get them to talk.  The following techniques can be used for introductions to get them to talk:
  • Individuals introduce themselves to the whole group;
  • People pair off and talk to each other for a minute and introduce each other to the group.
  • Make sure you set ground rules and everyone understands this is an advanced discussion group.  Some may be expecting a lecture and will ding you on the evaluation if they do not understand.
  • Let them know there is not a presentation for this session.
  • Be sure to allow time to recap the session and bring the group session to an adequate conclusion.
  • Answer any residual questions concerning the session
  • Remind participants to complete their evaluations for the session.
