Regina Gurvich
Ms. Gurvich has worked in heath care in New York City for over 9 years and is specialized in compliance and regulatory affairs. She currently serves as the Director of Compliance and Special Investigations Unit for Health Plus PHSP Inc., one of the largest Medicaid managed healthcare plans in New York City. Health Plus is a not-for-profit healthcare plan offering free or low cost health care insurance for over 270,000 uninsured people throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City and Nassau County. Ms. Gurvich’s responsibilities include managing the corporate ethics and compliance program including annual risk assessment/vulnerability studies, Code of Conduct enforcement and drafting, managing and directing the compliance hotline, ongoing compliance education, developing the conflicts of interest program, and compliance monitoring and auditing. As part of the fraud prevention program, Ms. Gurvich oversees billing and coding issues, internal investigations, and corporate governance/ethics. As part of recent New York State regulatory requirements, she developed an enterprise level work-flow compliance process model, establishing framework for monitoring and investigations, corrective action plans and implementation of remedial actions. With clear commitment to integrity, she champions compliance as a core business value across multiple jurisdictions and functions. Ms. Gurvich served on an New York Office of Medicaid Inspector General Advisory Task Force developing Compliance Guidance for Managed Care Organizations in New York State. Prior to joining Health Plus she served as a Compliance Officer and Director of Government Affairs for MetroPlus and Director of HIV Special Needs Plan at Fidelis Care New York. She received her MBA with specialization in healthcare from Zicklin School of Business at the City University of New York, a joint program with Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is an active member with HCCA, NHCAA, and IIA.
