Julene D. Brown is Billing Compliance Manager at MeritCare Health System in Fargo, North Dakota. Julene has worked in healthcare for 27 years. Experiences have included RN direct patient care giver, team leader, charge nurse, managed care specialist and supervisor, reimbursement and coding analyst and supervisor and billing compliance analyst and manager.  Julene earned her registered nurse diploma at St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo, North Dakota. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) graduating with magna cum laude honors. She is certified in healthcare compliance through the HCCA. She is also certified through the AAPC as a certified coder. Julene was indicted into the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau at MSUM.   Julene has been a speaker at regional, state and local functions regarding compliance and coding. She has written several articles for the Journal of HealthCare Compliance and the HCCA regional newsletter. She has served as a member and local AAPC chapter officer and as a member and regional officer for HCCA and as a member of AHLA.   Back
