Works with Hospital Administrators, Physicians, Health Information Managers (Coders), Nurses and other healthcare providers to assure the accuracy and integrity of the patient care medical records, including the electronic Health Record, in order to avoid aspects of “fraud and abuse” through improper/incomplete documentation. Also provide Coding and Documentation Compliance Audits, Medical Staff Grand Rounds Presentations.
Review, audit and evaluate appropriate levels of Diagnostic Related Groups (DRG) healthcare documentation in hospitals, in relationship to the guidelines and laws of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS).
Develop and implement programs to monitor appropriate DRG resource utilization in client hospitals. Develop and implement new healthcare documentation products, seminars, and programs, especially as it related to Federal documentation guidelines and laws.
Grand Rounds, Medical Staff Meeting, Hospitalist and Departmental Presentations: Keynote speaker on topics of Medical Record Documentation for Physicians, Coding for Physicians and Medical Cost Recovery for Hospitals and the Physicians’ Office.
